

Welcome! I'm Kathryn Rieser, a Cinematic Designer at Blizzard Entertainment. I am a part of Blizzard's Story and Franchise Development team, and together we create the per-rendered and real-time cut-scenes that bring Blizzard's worlds like Overwatch, Diablo, and World Of Warcraft to life. Cinematic Design is a unique role that requires knowledge of both film language and game development, bringing those two disciplines together to craft immersive stories that resonate deeply with gamers.
The roots of my career in creating cinematic content for games begin with Game Capture, the art of creating compelling gameplay footage for story-driven trailers. The rapid pace of capture work has honed my storytelling skills through the sheer volume of work over years in this industry. Having worked with games of varying genres has developed my eye for reflecting each games' unique and engaging qualities in eye-catching trailers that get gamers hyped to play.
